Birdies for the Brave
Like playing on the PGA TOUR, serving as a member of our Armed Forces takes discipline, diligence, hard work and commitment. TOUR players are indebted for the innumerable sacrifices made by our troops and their families, and show their support and appreciation by visiting troops in Iraq, visiting wounded soldiers in military hospitals, hosting golf clinics at military bases and participating in Birdies for the Brave military fundraising events at TPCs and select Heritage Collection properties.
Birdies for the Brave was established by TOUR player Phil Mickelson and his wife, Amy, to support troops injured during combat. For each birdie or eagle made on the PGA TOUR throughout the season, a contribution of $100 for a birdie or $500 for an eagle is made to one of six military homefront groups supported by TOUR players. The Birdies for the Brave program has grown to include fundraising events at TPCs and Heritage Collection clubs nationwide as well as numerous other military outreach activities that directly assist military men and women and their families.
